Guilbaud-Cox is a communications specialist who has had the distinction of
working for the non-profit, private, governmental and inter-governmental
She joined the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Office for
North America in 2007 with responsibility for enhancing the organization’s
visibility in the region. In this role, she is promoting collaboration between
UNEP and the Governments of Canada and the United States, and with the private
sector, as well as with the media and outstanding environmental, academic and
scientific institutions in the region. Before coming to Washington, she led the
unit at UNEP’s Headquarters in Nairobi, which showcased the organization’s work
around the world through the coordination of global media and special events.
Prior to joining UNEP, Ms. Guilbaud-Cox was Communications Coordinator for the
Government of Ontario’s Ministry of Housing, and Communications Advisor to the
Minister of Municipal Affairs. Prior to that she ran her own communications firm
where she served varied clients such as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
(CBC) and the St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Board. Before that, she worked with the
Canadian Red Cross Society in Vancouver, British Columbia and at their
Headquarters in Toronto, Ontario as Assistant Director of Public Relations. Ms.
Guilbaud-Cox speaks four languages and has lived in Canada, the Caribbean,
Kenya, Switzerland and the United States.
